Privacy Policy
Effective August 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what Octopush ("we", "us"), operated by Octopush, collects and how we use it. Octopush is built local-first: your code, your AI provider keys, and your local data stay on your device.
1. What stays on your device
Your source code, workspaces, terminal sessions, conversations, AI provider API keys, and usage/budget data are stored locally on your machine. We do not collect, transmit, or have access to them. Your provider keys are sent only directly from your device to the AI provider you configured.
2. Information we do process
- Account data. If you create an account, our authentication provider (Clerk) processes your email address and name to sign you in. We use this to identify your account and your entitlement.
- Billing data. If you subscribe, our Merchant of Record (Dodo Payments) processes your payment and billing details to complete the transaction. We do not store your full card details; we receive only the subscription status needed to grant Premium access.
- No app telemetry. The desktop App includes no analytics SDK, no crash reporting, and no diagnostics collection — it transmits nothing about your usage to us. Its only network traffic goes to the AI providers and integrations you configure, and to the update check. If we ever introduce optional diagnostics, they will be strictly opt-in and this Policy will be updated first. We do not sell personal data.
- Website analytics. Our website (octopush.sh) uses cookieless, aggregate analytics (Vercel Web Analytics) to count page views, referrers, and clicks on the download buttons. It sets no cookies, stores no identifiers on your device, and builds no personal profile. When you use the download link (octopush.sh/download), our server records standard, short-lived request logs (timestamp, referral channel, browser user-agent) to count downloads; these logs are not linked to an account or profile.
3. Third-party AI providers
When you use the App with an AI provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, DeepSeek, or a local model via Ollama), your prompts and related content are sent directly to that provider under its own terms and privacy policy. We are not a party to that exchange and do not receive it.
4. Service providers
We rely on the processors named above — Clerk (authentication) and Dodo Payments (billing) — which process data on our behalf to provide the service. Each maintains its own privacy practices.
5. Data retention
Account and subscription records are kept while your account is active and as required for legal, tax, and accounting purposes. Local data persists on your device until you delete it.
6. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to its processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@octopush.sh. You can delete locally stored data at any time by removing it from your device.
7. Changes
We may update this Policy; the effective date above reflects the latest version.
